Don't help your kids with their homework

jkottke:

Metarire

The blanket of snow
Lifts as we go
We see how the shine
Fall all in time.
Don’t worry child
You’re not to far
For me to be aware
I’ll make you
One of those
Ol’ kitchen counters
So that you
Can hide underneath
And become like air.
To create our life
So we can see that snow
And fly over on the Dove
With blue skies above
Come my children
That see so far
Past old eyes
That blink to hard
So all they may see
Are those sights
You call fun.
We walk without pause
Towards the snow
Which holds us close
Look now, n’ smile my son
No need to frighten them off
We’ll walk in step
Two by two
Never fearing
any of the thoughts
We caught.
